Second day of the 2010 WSOP Main Event

The Main Event of the World Series of Poker, considered one of the most prestigious poker tournaments in the world, is on its way and the second day of the tournament, which was divided in days 2A and 2B, is now over. The event is taking place at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas with a few surprises concerning competitors.

Day 2A saw some important poker players including Antonio Esfandiari, Dennis Phillips, Eli Elezra and Mike Sexton out of the poker tournament. For Daniel Negreanu day two was a tough day and he barely managed to make it to the next round with only 28,000 in chips. On the other hand, it was a good day for Annie Duke who ended the second day in the Amazon Room with more than 175,000 in chips.

During day 2B Phil Ivey, Doyle Brunson, Darvin Moon, Gavin Griffin, J.C. Tran, Chris Ferguson and David Baker among other players were eliminated from the WSOP poker tables. Professional poker players like Jason Mercier, David Benyamine, Eric Buchman and Vanessa Rousso had a good day and Vanessa Selbst ended the day with more than 265,000 in chips.

Costa Rica Poker player Humberto Brenes offered a good performance and finished the second round with about 134,000 in chips. On the other hand, Dan Harrington moved to the next round with a respectable 80,000 but Jeff Shulman was not as lucky and left the poker tournament on the second day of competition.
