Michael Mizrachi in the 2010 WSOP final table

Michael Mizrachi, know in the poker world as ‘The Grinder’ is one of the poker players who will be in the final table of the WSOP Main Event that will take place in November. Mizrachi comes to the event with $8.9 million in winnings and he could end it with almost $18 million, which would put him past Phil Ivey ($13.4 million) and Daniel Negreanu ($12.6 million).

“It’s just been a great World Series and I can’t believe I’m in the November Nine,” Mizrachi has commented. “This is my fourth final table of the summer, I have a shot for Player of the Year, I have a shot to have the most career tournament earnings, which I’m already close to, but this would put me way on top if I win. No one’s going to even be close to me anymore.”

If Mizrachi wins the WSOP Main Event in November he would not only tie Frank Kassela in the race for the WSOP Player of the Year title but he would also end the year on a high note with one of the best individual performances in the history of the WSOP. Mizrachi started the summer winning the $50k Players Championship and reached the final tables at the $10k seven card stud world championship and the $10k limit hold’em world championship.

Mizrachi is in seventh chip position for November’s final table and despite not having much room to work with, he is confident he can play a good poker game. “I like my chances a lot,” said Mizrachi. “I’ve been in every situation possible in tournaments, and I think I’m more dangerous with a short stack than a big stack.”
