Duhamel and Racener to play for WSOP title

Canadian poker player Jonathan Duhamel, 23, and US player John Racener, 24, will face each other on Monday night in a poker showdown that will decide who will take home the $8.9 million top prize of the World Series of Poker Main Event. The poker tournament is taking place in Las Vegas at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino.

The two players are the best of a field of 7,317 poker players who signed up for the No-Limit Texas Hold’Em world championship. The nine players who made it to the final table were: Jason Senti, Joseph Cheong, John Dolan, Jonathan Duhamel, Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi, Matthew Jarvis, John Racener, Filippo Candio and Cuong "Soi" Nguyen.

Jonathan Duhamel is from Boucherville, Quebec and he majored in finance but later left the University of Quebec in Montreal. He has been a professional poker player for two years and most of the time he has played in online poker tournaments. Before this event, he had won a total of $43,000 in WSOP tournaments.

John Racer is a professional poker player from Port Richey, Florida and so far he has won $701,165 in WSOP poker tournaments. While Duhamel has nearly 189 million in chips, Racener will go to the showdown with 30.8 million in chips. Monday night will see the champion crowned in this exciting $10,000 buy-in poker event that started in July.
